Phelise fic

Hi! Here is another attempt of mine to write an Idol fic. This a phelise story (again), and again inspired by a song. It is a brazilian song called “Mais Uma de Amor” (another love thing). This song is about being in love with someone but never doing anything about it because there was no reason for it. The feeling itself was enough.

I didn’t like how I ended this fic but I felt like I would go on forever and since I didn’t want it to be a very long fic, I stopped and decided to end it right where I was.

So, if you have the time, give it a shot.

Just Another Love Thing

(Phillip and Elise)

He watched her from afar, somewhat hidden behind the instruments, but not quite. They were all busy trying out their outfits for tour that no one noticed he had reclused himself in that spot with his guitar in hand. It was no surprise to anyone there that Phillip wasn’t that much thrilled about dress rehearsals. He understood it was part of the job but he wasn’t a fan.

He watched the girls beam in excitement over their outfits and even let out a small laugh when he saw Joshua and Colton being more engrossed in those outfits than the girls themselves. Phillip had to suppress the urge to tease them about it.

As the time went by people finally began to miss him and then he was brought back into action. He did his best and tried his outfits as fast as he could, so he soon was done with them. As for the rest of his mates, only HeeJun and Deandre had finished. HeeJun was now mocking Erika on her every piece she tried on and Deandre was too busy admiring Jessica to be much of a company to Phillip. He didn’t mind, though. Watching his friends enjoy themselves was also fun.

With no much word, Phillip returned to his spot behind the instruments. His guitar now secured in its case. He sat and his eyes aimlessly wandered through the room, sluggishly scanning every seemingly insignificant thing around until he stopped at her smile.

Elise… She had a wide smile plastered on her face. She was enjoying herself as much as any other woman would but somehow every little thing about her seemed different – felt different to him.

He watched her parade her outfits as if she was a model, rocking out with an invisible mic and an air guitar. He caught himself smiling at her every motion and couldn’t deny the fact that he thought she looked beautiful, nonetheless. But it was a particular dress that got him hypnotized.

Elise came out of the dressing room wearing a short, flirty length black-aztec summer dress with a wide V neck, a plunging V back and with an asymmetrical ruffle overlay at the bodice. But of course, Phillip had no idea of what a bodice was or that black-aztec was even considered a color; all he knew was how breathtaking she looked in that dress and how it allowed the small of her back and sun-kissed perfectly shaped legs to be strategically exposed.

Phillip was lost in reverie when a voice forced him back to reality.

“Look but don’t touch.” HeeJun’s voice barely echoed in Phillip’s ears but it was enough to draw his attention, so HeeJun teased again. “Look but don’t touch!”

“What?” Phillip asked as if in confusion. Eyes narrowed in wonder as he turned and stared at his best friend’s face.

HeeJun would have loved to keep on teasing Phillip but he knew very well that teasing was the last thing his friend needed. Even though Phillip never openly talked about his feelings towards Elise, HeeJun wasn’t blind; he was silly, playful, funny and so much more, but he definitely wasn’t blind.

HeeJun motioned with his head to where Elise was and Phillip quickly glanced her way but returned to look at his friend.

“I… I… I don’t know what you’re talking about.” He stuttered, denying the obvious.

HeeJun opened his mouth as if he was about to talk but no words were heard from him. He only silently nodded. Phillip eyed him in suspicious knowing that HeeJun’s silence was actually louder than any words he would have said.

“It’s true!” Phillip explained, forcing out a smile. But HeeJun remained silent. He pouted and sighed as he cast glances at Elise’s way.

Phillip snorted out a laugh and continued to present his case. “I mean it… Come on, not you too. You know me, man!”

“Sure…” HeeJun decided it was better not argue with his friend. It was no use in doing it so. Besides, he didn’t have to do anything; Phillip was already delivering his truth by denying everything. “If you say so, I believe.”

Phillip watched his friend and then looked over at Elise again. She was gone, probably went to change into another outfit or sleep her own clothes back on.

HeeJun observed the unsaid emotions dancing in Phillip’s eyes during those seconds. It is so obvious. Why can’t he see that he is in love with her? What is the point in denying it? HeeJun thought. But instead of pushing it he offered his friend a sympathetic patting on his back. After that HeeJun left Phillip dealing with his own inner demons.

Even though he didn’t want to admit, it was true. He did feel something for Elise. Something that he couldn’t exactly explain or even understand. She soothed him, inspired him. Elise made him feel as if he was able to do everything and anything. He didn’t have to pretend to be someone else when he was around her. She understood him like no one else.

She understands me better than Ha… He stopped himself from finishing that thought.

Phillip let out a heavy sigh and ran his hand through his ruffled hair. How come a perfect warm feeling turned into a completely mess in matter of minutes? He asked himself thinking back when he felt happy just by watching his friends having fun, and then there was her…

There is always her…

He wanted to be able to sort out his feelings and end this juvenile, hormone-driven crush he had developed towards her. But the more he told himself to let it go, the more he wanted her.

And there was Hannah…

Phillip loved his girlfriend; she was his best friend. Hannah was the person he trusted the most in the whole world. She was the one that encouraged him to be a better person and pursue his dreams no matter what.

He couldn’t do such a thing to her. He wasn’t that type of man. He was honest and wanted to honor everything Hannah had done for him. He wanted to be good to her and love her how she deserved to be loved.

But he felt powerless before his own twisted feelings. Elise was a distraction and even though he tried to keep some distance from her, he often caught himself hovering around her. Phillip thought he was doing a good job in hiding his feelings but HeeJun’s warning comment made him realize he was actually failing miserably.

Has she noticed? Does she know? Phillip wondered.

Phillip always thought she acted more girly like whenever she was around him but then he reasoned it was his own imagination since she acted a little flirtatious with everybody else. It was just how she was.

Elise was cheerful and had wide warm smiles to each and every one that was around her. She was very inspiring and maybe that was what called him his attention the most. She was strong and yet fragile. She was self-sufficient and yet needy. She kept her cool during hard times and then couldn’t wait to be alone so she could release her tears.

“Let’s eat.”

Phillip didn’t mind the person talking to him. His eyes blankly stared ahead as he still traveled through his mind.

“Hey? Earth to Phillip?”

Hands playfully dancing before his face, attempting to bring him back.

“Hey? Hello??!! Is there anybody there?”

She called louder, still in playful voice but it was her laugh at the end of her sentence that caught his ears.

His eyes slowly turned to look at her. Elise… She was standing before him, back in her normal clothes and with a smile on her face.

Of course. It is her. He bitterly added.

“Aren’t you coming?” She asked, assuming he had heard her first question. But Phillip frowned, not knowing what she was talking about. “We’re going out to get some lunch. Aren’t you coming?”

There was something about how she always ended her sentences with a laugh that made him want to reach out and kiss her. But he wouldn’t do that. He just couldn’t.

Again, his hand ruffled through his hair. “Uh… Humm… No… You guys can go. I… I have to… to…” Phillip didn’t know what to say. He only wanted to be left alone. He knew he couldn’t be around her. Not now.

Elise watched him clumsily trying to come up with an excuse for not joining them for lunch and couldn’t help but think how adorable he looked right there. And with that thought, she lowered her eyes and warmly smiled.

“What?” He asked in a husky tone, also self-consciously smiling. The slightest difference in her smile hadn’t gone unnoticed by him.

Elise brought her eyes back up and found his. They both fell in silence for a moment until their half-nervous, half-self-conscious laughs echoed.

“I have some stuff to do, so…” Phillip resumed to his excuse, awkwardly sticking his hands in his pockets.

Elise simply nodded in return. “Ok… See you later.”

With that she left him. He stayed in his spot until she and all the others had disappeared through the door.

Phillip looked around, there were still a few staff members there, gathering and placing things back at their original places. He thought of staying but decided against it, so he went driving. He wasn’t hungry, so he just drove to clear his head a little.

As urban landscapes passed him by, Phillip admitted to himself that sooner or later he would have to step up and face the reality of his feelings. He wasn’t sure about how deep his emotions went but he was sure they weren’t fading fast.

Sure he knew that it was vain to keep on hiding away from it, especially when her presence reverberated everywhere.  But whatever Phillip had with Elise, to him it felt like it was a beautiful dream bound to become a beautiful memory.

But right now he would pay no much attention to it. He would only allow himself to feel this dream and be renewed by it. No, he wasn’t lying to himself, he was avoiding facing facts but it was only because deep down, he didn’t want to let go of this feelings; not yet.

And even though he couldn’t reach out and touch her, even though he couldn’t hear her voice whispering in his ears, her radiance and her warmth followed him everywhere, and to him, that was enough.

Phillip didn’t need to be sure of his feelings for Elise and he sure didn’t need to know what she really felt for him. It didn’t matter anymore.

Truth was that deep down he knew that some people are meant to fall in love with each other but not meant to be together…

The end.

Idol Fics…

Hi there! Not sure, if this post will be seen but…

I’ve written three AI fics, actually two phelise and one skyton, and I want to write a few more. I know you guys have your favorite writers (I love them too because their fics are great) but I would like you to give me a chance.

So, if any of you have an idea for a fic, please let me know. Maybe one you haven’t requested to other writers yet… I really need inspiration right now.

I have to warn you that my writing style if very descriptive, I mean, I detail the inner feelings, thoughts, motivation… and tend to do less dialogue, especially in  real life based characters. I try to be fair to their real situation and don’t go too AU, of course, it’s not real, but I try to use where they are now to start my fics and then I progress from there.

So, if you never read my fics, please give it a try Wondering (phelise), Hurricane She (skyton), My Wish (phelise) ( I think I don’t suck that much), and if you have any ideas, just let me know.

Wondering….

Okay… quick stop. Just wrote a very short phelise story. Nothing much, just another angsty one.

Wondering

(Phillip and Elise)

He wasn’t sure how long he had been standing there, blankly staring at the walls surrounding him. He blinked a few times trying to force himself to come back to reality but it was exactly the reality of his situation that got him in that state in the first place.

His eyes were now fixed on the object he had in his hand; his sister had given it to him. When she handed him a small envelope right before he got in the plane, he thought it had something to do with his family because she was so secretive about it, even whispering to him to only open when he was alone.

Phillip did what his sister told him and curiosity got to him when he saw it was a dvd. He expected everything but what he displayed before his eyes. He was confused, to say the least, especially something like that coming from his own sister.

He called her questioning what she had done and the only answer she gave him was “I had to do it.” She didn’t even bother to explain how she came up with that dvd, she didn’t bother say anything else but that and it simply angered him and put him in a state he didn’t want to be in. Now he was left to deal with it on his own and he didn’t know what to think or do, or even if he had to actually do something about.

“Hey.”

Phillip sighed, closing his eyes at the sound of her voice. Elise walked in with a smile on her face and it didn’t take her long to notice there was something wrong with her friend.

“Are you okay?” She asked with concern, placing a hand sympathetic over his shoulder.

Phillip didn’t answer, though. His eyes looked at her hand on his shoulder then at her face then back at her hand.

“We were looking for you. Are you hiding or something?”

Again, no answer.

Phillip took a step back, putting some distance between them, and then slowly walked to the sofa that was facing a large tv. He still had the envelope in his hand. He took his time and she watched him in awe. First, he put the dvd in the player then he turned to her.

“Hugh…”  He murmured in monotone, and then cleared his throat before speaking again. “I… I think we need to talk.”

“About…” Elise waited for him to continue but heard nothing instead. She frowned as she stared at him. He was looking down, staring at his own shoes, pouting in hesitation. “Phillip, what’s goin-“

“Have you ever thought about it?”

He cut her in midsentence. His question not really making much sense, though.

“Think about what? I don’t know what you’re talking about.” She stated, ending her sentence with a small laugh.

“I mean… Have thought about what people say?”

Elise stopped and thought about his question. It seemed that he was worried about everything that was going on with his career. He was the winner but there were so many people out there that made it known how much they disliked him as a musician. Maybe he was insecure, she thought to herself.

“Well… sometimes, but if I gave too much credit to what people say about me, I wouldn’t be here today. So…”

“No.” He interrupted her again this time looking straight into her eyes. “Not… I mean… have you ever thought about… us?”

Elise didn’t expect to hear him say that. She looked into his eyes in confusion as she tried to process what he was saying.

Phillip walked to where she was standing, grabbed her hands and dragged her to stand next the tv. “Here.” He said after pushing play.

Elise looked at the tv and what she saw made her understand where his weird behavior was coming from. It was a collection of pictures and videos of the two of them.

Her features smoothed as she watched their moments on tv. She reached for the remote and pushed the stop button.

“Phillip…” She began but he didn’t let her finish.

“Don’t tell me you never thought about it?”

“Where did you get this?” She asked not answering his question.

“My sister… She gave it to me at the airport.”

Elise nodded and Phillip started to walk in circles, one hand in his front pocket and the other on ruffling his hair.

“I had seen it already.” She confessed, making him stop in his frenetic pace, eyeing her in question. “Some fan sent it to me… It wasn’t your sister.”

“But she gave it to me… she didn’t have to, but she did.”

“I don’t know what to say, Phillip. Guess, she just wanted you to watch or maybe she doesn’t even know what’s in it.”

“She knew…”

Silence took place after he spoke. Both of them awkwardly standing, not really sure what either was supposed to say.

“It’s nothing.” Elise thought it was best to work with reason. She knew better than to risk her friendship and besides, she really didn’t know what to say.

“Is it?” Phillip was pushing. He didn’t know why he was doing it when he was the one with a girlfriend but he couldn’t stop thinking about it.

She didn’t say a thing, though. He watched her lower her eyes, avoiding his own. He slowly stepped closed to her, their bodies now only a few inches from touching.

“Truth is…” He spoke again in a husky manner. “I wonder…”

She only nodded, feeling his words reverberate through every fiber of her being. Neither one dared to move. His hand found its way to hers and remained there for only a second or two.

Elise watched their hands during that second and sighed.

“Me too…” She admitted while looking away. “I wonder…”

Both remained where they were, now silence reigning over them. Their eyes met, not in desire, not in shame or anything of the sort, but in understanding.

Elise and Phillip never asked to be in such situation; neither wanted to, but they were. Phillip put an end to the distance between them and hugged her briefly, both of them slightly nodding.

“I’m so sorry.” She whispered in his ear, planted a light kiss on his right cheek then left.

“Me too.”

Phillip watched her out of the door and knew this matter would never be brought up again. He knew that much but also knew that question would never leave him, and for that he would always be left wondering…

Hurricane She ( a skyton story)

Okay, so…

I know I’m just making my come back in the writing world, so I thought to give it a try and write a skyton story. Again, this was inspired by a song, actually but a phrase in a song. (never thought I’d love someone that was someone else’s dream… - You Give Me Something by James Morrison).

It didn’t turn out the way I wanted but I don’t feel like rewriting it. Actually, I really don’t have the time. Gotta study for my test, so…

Any thoughts??? I’d love some feedback!

Another day was bidding goodbye and soon night and all of its splendor took over. He had his backpack over one of his shoulders and another bag in hand. His eyes studied carefully the sight before him. It was a very beautiful house, not like the one him and the others had stayed before but still it was beautiful. Simple and beautiful were the words that came to his mind as he described the building that was going to serve him as a home for the next few weeks.

Most of the others were already there, rehearsing for tour but because of his schedule he had to arrive two weeks later. He was excited to see all of his new friends again and to share with them an experience he was sure neither one of them would ever forget. A smile colored his face at the thought and in that second, he silently thanked God for all of His blessings.

His life was changing before his eyes and he was sure he had nothing to do with it. It was all Him. God was the one doing everything and that just made all the difference. Everything he had ever dreamed of and even more were coming true before his eyes and then there was her…

Colton hesitated before making his way in the house. His thoughts were on the one he could not stop thinking about. He sighed again and wondered why He allowed him to feel such a wonderful thing when there was no hope in it.

He knew Skylar was already there, she had called him. In fact, she called him every day to talk about anything, everything and nothing at all. It felt good to be this close to her and it was also terrifying.

Colton knew very well Skylar was taken and that she loved her boyfriend. She made that very clear. Besides, he knew it was wrong to want someone who didn’t belong to him. But then, there was that question that wouldn’t let him sleep at night: “Doesn’t she?”

Wondering if she belonged with him or not became some sort of a routine for him. He wanted to understand why he was going through such a thing. He knew there was a reason for everything under the sun and so he was certain there was a reason for his feelings. Was it patience? Was it something else entirely? He didn’t know.

Knowing there was no use in standing outside dwelling with this matter, he reached for the doorbell and soon was greeted by a middle aged woman with a warm smile on her face. She politely ushered him in and it didn’t take too long for Joshua and Hollie to greet him. Actually, they didn’t greet him, they practically ran over him, mostly Joshua, since he was chasing after Hollie who was now using Colton as a shield.

With his hands up in surrender, he let his bag and backpack fall on the floor. Hollie hugged him and told him how much she had missed him and that it wasn’t the same without him there. Joshua did the same.

He felt the pace of his heart fastening as his eyes scanned the place for her. His act didn’t go unnotice by his two friends. Hollie smiled at herself and exchanged knowing glances with Joshua.

“Humm… it’s just the two of us. The others are out. They wanted to have dinner at this restaurant Elise said that a friend of a friend of hers said that it was very good.” Hollie explained.

Colton nodded and felt thankful and disappointed at the same time.

“Where am I sleeping?” He asked.

“Not with me.” Joshua answered in a mockery tone.

“You’re gonna have to share beds with HeeJun and Phillip. Deandre is my roommate, so…”

“Here, come with me, please. I’ll show you your room, sir.” The middle aged woman who was standing there the whole time, announced and then he followed her upstairs.

Colton said he didn’t need help in settling his belongings so he was left alone. He heard Joshua’s loud voice echoing everywhere as he called for Hollie. Colton smiled at his friends’ relationship. If only he could have something similar with Skylar his life would be so much easier.

There was a time, right when he was still in the competition, that he thought he could win her over. The two of them were rehearsing to sing “Don’t You Wanna Stay” and everything that night felt so perfect and in sync that he allowed his hopes to go high. But right after their performance something was off with Skylar. Even though she still talked to him every day, even though she treated him warmly, she always avoided eye contact with him. It was like she was afraid to look into his eyes.

She talked about Coty more often, actually, she talked about Coty every single opportunity she had. It was like she was trying her best to remind him and everyone else she had boyfriend. Colton even wondered if Skylar was doing it as some act of defense or denial. Maybe she was trying her best to convince herself…

He glanced at his watch and it was past midnight. He reasoned it was best to go to bed and try to sleep instead of waiting for his friends to come back. He knew there was no used in waiting, anyway. What good would it do to him to look at her face that night? Would it make things better? It would only make things worse, he knew that much.

Colton heard Joshua yell his good night at him, followed by Hollie peaking at his door, also saying good night. He laughed at the pair and turned off the lights. Casting a silent prayer to God, he thanked Him for his days, for his family, friends and opportunities and he asked Him for help in forgetting her.

Even though he was tired, even though he wanted to sleep, Colton didn’t seem to just do it. He lied awake and when he heard noises from downstairs he pretended to be sleeping. The lights in the room were soon on again and he heard Phillip and HeeJun talking about their dinner.

“That body wasn’t here before.” Colton heard HeeJun and had to fight his urge to laugh at his friend’s remarks.

Phillip warned to keep their voices down but it wasn’t that what called Colton’s attention. It was something else.

A very familiar voice joined his roommates’. “Hollie said… Colton’s here.”

Skylar stated as she walked in the room. She made her voice sound like a whisper when she caught sight of him all wrapped up in covers. When Hollie told her Colton had arrived, she assumed he would be sleeping but hoped he wasn’t, though and that’s why she was there.

He felt silly. How come he could feel his skin burn because of her eyes on him if he didn’t even see her actually staring at him?

But he was right. Skylar’s eyes were on his sleeping figure. Phillip made up an excuse and dragged HeeJun with him out of the room, allowing her a moment alone with Colton. Skylar smiled in return knowing what Phillip was doing.

She quietly stepped closer to where Colton laid and carefully ran her fingers through his hair. The warmth of her touch sent chills throughout him, fastening his heart beats. He prayed she wouldn’t notice the effect she had on him. He felt her hands through his hair and his skin was in flames with the touch of her lips. Before leaving, Skylar placed a gentle kiss on his cheek and whispered him good night.

He heard her leaving and hated himself for wanting her so much.

Keeping quiet about his feelings for her was his punishment. As he felt his heart go wild, he mentally added a bittersweet remark. How ironic he thought it was now that his feelings towards Skylar were so much alike a passage in a book his sister insisted him on reading and which he hated. It said: “I wanted so badly to lie down next to her on the couch, to wrap my arms around her and sleep… Just sleep together in the most innocent sense of the phrase. But I lacked the courage and she had a boyfriend and I was gawky and she was gorgeous and I was hopelessly boring and she was fascinating. So I walked back to my room and collapsed on the bottom bunk, thinking that if people were rain, I was drizzle and she was hurricane”.

That was it. That simple word explained it all. Colton felt hopeless before his own feelings. But what else could he feel when in a weird and so perfect way Skylar had become his own personal hurricane…

My Wish - a phelise story

Hello there!

This is a quick introduction here, so… I used to write fanfictions but I stopped because I went into a major writer’s block. There other times that I attempted to write again, but I failed each and every one of them.

I have to confess that reading what some Phelise fans wrote made me want to write something too.

This is my first phelise fic and it’s from Phillip’s point of view. The main theme for this fic came last night when I flipped through some radio stations and when I finally found something nice to listen to, this idea came. It is somewhat inspired by the lyrics of the song that I was listening to, “My Wish” by Rascal Flatts.

Before you read this fic, please take a look at the lyrics and if you’ve never heard this song, you can listen here.

My Wish

I hope that days come easy and the moments pass slow,

And each road leads you where you want to go.

And if you’re faced with a choice, and you have to choose,

I hope you choose the one that means the most to you.

And if one door opens to another door closed,

I hope you keep on walkin’ till you find the window,

If it’s cold outside,

Show the world the warmth of your smile,

More than anything, more than anything…

My wish for you is that this life becomes all that you want it,

To your dreams stay big and your worries stay small,

You never need to carry more than you can hold.

And while you’re out there getting where you’re getting to,

I hope you know somebody loves you

And wants the same things too,

Yeah, this is my wish.

I hope you never look back, but you never forget,

All the ones who love you in the place you left,

I hope you always forgive, and you never regret,

And you help somebody every chance you get.

Oh, you find God’s grace in every mistake,

And you always give more than you take.

But more than anything, yeah, more than anything,

My wish for you is that this life becomes all that you want it,

To your dreams stay big and your worries stay small,

You never need to carry more than you can hold.

And while you’re out there getting where you’re getting to,

I hope you know somebody loves you

And wants the same things too,

Yeah, this is my wish.

MY WISH

(a phelise story)

So, there he was… alone in the dark, just spending some quality time with himself. It felt good to just lie there in that couch, no lights on, and eyes closed. He didn’t get to do that very often lately. His life was in a hectic pace, too many things going on at the same time and too many people around him telling him what to do – how to act, and planning his future. He couldn’t deny that he was happy and felt blessed that all of those things were happening to him, but he also couldn’t deny the fact he feared his life was changing too much and that he might end up losing himself along the way.

It was because of those thoughts that he found himself hiding in the rehearsal room. It was late at night and all the others were out in a club. He didn’t feel like going out so he lied saying the song “Disease” wasn’t quite where he wanted it to be, so he had to rehearse some more. Truth was he just wanted some peace before the tour started.

As he took a silent deep breath, footsteps sounds caught his attention and he prayed whoever it was wouldn’t notice him there, but for his dismay a light went on in the room. It was the light on the left corner where the electric piano laid. It wasn’t too bright to enlighten the entire room but it was enough to give him perfect vision of who the visitor was.

He felt like sitting up straight and announce his presence there the moment he realized the blond-haired woman he saw walk in was Elise, but for some reason unknown to him, he just laid there as silent as he could and observed her.

Elise was with her guitar in hand when she walked in. Phillip couldn’t help but notice she still had the same clothes she wore when she left for the club earlier that night. He wondered why she was back so early and apparently alone. He asked himself if something that happened upset her that much to make her leave.

Phillip watched her carefully placing her guitar down and then go sit in front of the electric piano. Being the playful guy he was, he had to mentally add a sneer, thinking he wouldn’t be able to listen to another Elise performance that night and when he was about to state it vocally, he caught perfect site of her face.

Elise was looking down, probably at the piano keys, maybe even thinking about what she would play but it was the look on her face that caught his attention. She didn’t seem to be upset, she seemed saddened.

As he heard her pick at the keys, playing as if it was her first time, Phillip found himself thinking back, remembering all the moments he had spent with her. He couldn’t deny it, she was always cheerful and playful around everyone but there was always something in her eyes that made him think she just needed someone to look after her, to take care of her.

Elise didn’t share much of her life. If not for the clues in between her lines, he would never guess she had led a difficult life, always fighting for what she believed, always underappreciated.

It was when he was about to make another attempted in announcing his presence that she started playing a soulful tune on the piano. It didn’t take him long enough to recognize the song she was playing. It was “One and Only” by Adele. He wasn’t an Adele’ fan but that song was printed in his brain. It was the same song that got Elise on the verge of tears while performing it. He remembered the feeling when he first watched her sing this song. Her voice darted straight into his heart. She didn’t sing this time, though. Elise just played the piano and allowed herself to get lost in its sound.

Phillip took another deep breath and this time hoped she didn’t listen to him. Right then, he felt she was glowing. Even though, it was clear that she was hurting, Phillip couldn’t stop thinking of how she simply glowed as she played.

He wondered why that particular song actually meant to her. What was its connection to her personal life? What was the mystery behind it? And mostly important, why it made her hurt like that?

Phillip tried not to pay attention to his feelings towards Elise. He had too much on his plate and he didn’t need to deal with something like that. Besides, he loved his girlfriend very much. But there was something about Elise Testone that moved him. She was different and at the same time so much like him, that it even scared him to think that might be more to their relationship that just friends.

With a sudden stop, Elise breathed out a bittersweet laugh. She looked down and closed her eyes as tears streamed down her face. She suppressed a threatening sob and tried to calm herself down by slowly breathing.

At that moment, Phillip wasn’t thinking anymore. Reason was previously telling him he shouldn’t give in to his emotions, that it was a dangerous place to be. But he paid attention to it no more. He didn’t care if she got mad at him for being silent all this time and simply watch her breakdown. He didn’t care if his brain told him what he was about to do might send her the wrong impression. He didn’t care about any of those things. He only cared about her.

Phillip left his spot and made his way to where she was. Elise was so immersed in herself that she didn’t notice him until he spoke.

“Hey.” He said in a serious tone making her look up at him.

Elise seemed surprised to see him standing there in front of her. She tried to disguise her tears by sliding her fingers down cheeks.

She blinked rapidly a few times before asking. “Where were you? I didn’t… see you… come in.” As she spoke realization dawned on her.

She looked around the room and for the first time that night she took in its surrounding. His guitar was there. His shoes were on the floor and even leftovers were lying around aimlessly.

“How long have you been here?” She didn’t look at him this time. She was too mad at for that and too weak to start an argument.

She felt betrayed. She thought Phillip was her friend. She never imaged he would simply sneak behind her back and watch her in one of her weakest moments.

“Leave.” Still she didn’t look at him and he didn’t move. He just stood there, his eyes never leaving her face.

Elise felt his stare on her and it saddened her even more and even angered her. “Would you mind?”

With that burst, Phillip didn’t hold anymore. He grabbed her hand pulling her out of the chair, making her stand then dragging her to him until she was in his arms.

He held her close and as tight as he thought it was possible for him to do, his nose deep in her hair. Elise didn’t expect him to do such a thing. She noticed Phillip had distanced himself from her because of all the rumors going around about the two of them. His sudden act confused her and comforted her at the same time. She had her arms down  fearing to return the embrace until she felt him tightening his grip at her. She then closed her eyes and allowed herself to simply fall apart before him.

She cried silently as he held her tight. He didn’t want to let go. At that very moment the only thing he wanted to do was to let her know he cared. He wanted her to know that he hoped her dreams would come true, that people would finally see her for the amazing person and talent that she truly was. He wanted her know that he wished her life would become all that she wanted and that she always showed the world the warmth of her smile. And more than anything, Phillip just wished her to know somebody loved her and wanted the same things she wanted too. That was his wish for her but words seemed to evade him right there, so he simply held her in his and stayed there for as long as she needed him to…
